Parent Coaching

Parenting is a major challenge. But it is a challenge filled with opportunities for both parents and children to experience joy, connection and calm. A parent coach will help you meet the challenges and opportunities of parenting with confidence. Not only will you be happier, but your children will be too!

Why use a parent coach?

We live in a time where moms and dads work more than ever, social media is replacing interactions and technology has become our babysitter. It’s no wonder parents feel so overwhelmed.

It’s easy to compare ourselves to our friends and question who we think we “should” be as parents, to lose sight of our place as parents, or forget the wonders our children have to offer. There is tremendous value in talking through your feelings with a professional who has the knowledge and skills to understand what you are going through and the experience to reconnect you with your role as a parent.

A parent coach can help guide you toward simple and practical child-raising methods that bring structure and peace to our otherwise demanding schedules. Speaking with a coach is a little gift you can give to yourself and your family.

How does it work?

At The Counseling & Parenting Center, we’ll help you understand why your kids behave the way they do, and how your parenting style may be contributing to the very behaviors you wish would stop. We’ll teach you how to get more of the positive behaviors you want, and less of the frustrating ones you don’t!

To do this, The Counseling & Parenting Center will customize short-term tasks and long-term goals that meet your family’s needs. Because children and families operate on complex schedules, we encourage text messages, emails and phone calls to help parents problem-solve as challenges arise. We will be there for you!

How do I know I need a parent coach?

If you can relate to any of the statements below, we can help.

  • You find yourself nagging, reminding, or yelling at your children more often than not.
  • You argue over how to raise your child.
  • Your kids talk back to you and make you feel like you have no control over your life.
  • You know what you’re doing isn’t working, but you don’t know what else to do.
  • You feel helpless and angry and know it’s time for a change.

As a parent coach, I am trained to provide tips and tools to help parents connect with their children. As a LCSW, I have the education to help parents understand why their children behave the way they do. As a parent, I can relate to the hard times of child-rearing and provide empathy where it’s needed. All of this experience and education provide me with the insight and understanding to help you have a more positive experience raising your children.

My clients emerge from their counseling sessions feeling stronger, more confident, and more grounded. The practical tools and tips I teach you will not only help you develop a better relationship with your children, but also with your spouse, family members and friends. The skills you learn can serve as guidelines in building a healthy and happy home!
